Trustee Board

TDNV Board of Trustees  

Tonya Dorsey, Founder/Board Chairman – A graduate of The University of Texas at San Antonio, Tonya is an accomplished composer whose music has been performed at Juilliard. As the founder of TDNV, she believes that a child’s exposure to the performing arts enhances their educational experience. Inspired by faith, she established the Tonya Dorsey New Vision scholarship program in 2008 to raise funds to support aspiring young artist. 

Cheryl L. Pitts, MSW, Vice Chairman – In addition to TDNV, Cheryl is President of the Winslow Township Board of Education. A graduate of Temple University and Rutgers University, Cheryl pours her heart out to any cause that strengthens and promotes youth. 

Kathleen Lovelace, Secretary – Kathleen has a love for God, a strong sense of family and a passion for music and youth; TDNV has been an advocate for youth causes for over thirty-five years in various arenas. She divides her time between being a TDNV Trustee, New Vision Choir Member, family matriarch and an active member of her church, Our Lady of Hope. 

Bernice Oakman, Treasurer – Bernice, a graduate of Temple University, is a Registered Nurse and supervisor at Girard Medical Center. As an active member of her church, she has hosted many events since 1996. She is currently a member of the finance counsel and the chairperson for the fundraising committee and has been singing on both the gospel and traditional choirs at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church for over 20 years. 

Kristian Lovelace, Events Coordinator – Kristian is a young person who is very active in his church and community. Kristian has vast experience in stage management. He is faith-driven, an excellent organizer and demonstrates his extreme love for the performing arts by volunteering his time and talents. 

Imani A. Scott, Assistant Secretary – Imani earned her BS in Business Administration from Drexel University and is employed by the Delta T Group, where she works one on one with a special needs student as a personal care assistant. She has a passion for the arts and is a graduate of The Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts where she majored in Creative Writing. 

Kendrah Butler-Waters – Kendrah, a 2015-2016 Kimmel Center Jazz Resident, is a classically and jazz trained pianist and composer. She holds a dual bachelor’s degree from Temple University in Political Science and Sociology with a minor in Spanish and a master’s degree from Drexel University in Elementary Education. She is currently a contracted fourth grade teacher at Gotwals Elementary School in Norristown, Pa and performs regularly locally and abroad.

Sister Lynn Marie Ralph, SBS – Sr. Lynn Marie Ralph entered the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament in 1983; a religious order founded by Saint Katharine Drexel in 1891. She is a graduate of Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. She has taught for 14 years and served as Principal for 7 years. Currently Sister Lynn is the Director of Religious Education at Saint Martin de Porres Catholic Church in North Philadelphia. Sister's motto is: “for God through others, I place my trust in you." It is through this trust that has allowed her to be open to "new doors" in her life. 

Dayna M. Pitts – Dayna is a graduate of Thomas Edison State University. Miss Pitts has worked 15 years for the municipality of Winslow Township. Miss Pitts is also a member of the New Jersey State Registrar Association and the New Jersey Local Board of Health Association. She is an active member of her church, St. Matthews Baptist Church, Williamstown, NJ


Annie Torian – Annie has been involved in music ministry for many years and has found great fulfillment in serving God and the church through music. She is a member of the Tonya Dorsey and New Vision choir. In addition she sings with the senior choir and also serves as youth choir coordinator at her church, Saint Martin de Porres in North Philadelphia, PA 

Christopher White – A long-time employee of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Chris is dedicated to his church and family and always willing to assist in causes that support the arts and youth. 

Barbara Jenkins, Founding Member Emeritus – one of the founding Trustees present at the first official meeting of the Board of Trustees. An active participate and supporter of the arts, Barbara continues to garner support however needed. 

Angela Taylor, Founding Member Emeritus – Ms. Taylor, one of the founding Trustees present at the first official meeting of the Board of Trustees. An active participate and supporter of the arts, Angela continues to garner support however needed. 

Bobby Harris, Member Emeritus – As the Executive Director and Founder of the Dreams of Tomorrow, Inc. (DOT); this entrepreneurial Omega Psi Phi man devotes his life to the many causes of the youth population.
